He spent years discussing his presidential aspirations, even once saying that he would fund former Minnesota Governor and ex-professional wrestler Jesse Ventura’s campaign should he ever want to run for the top spot. But now it seems that Donald Trump is backing up the talk by putting his name on the ballot paper and running for president. While his chances of reaching the White House are slim at best, it has given the outspoken businessman and TV star a new platform to air his views. It seems great that Trump has made the issue of online gambling legislation so prominent, but it could possibly prove to be negative in many ways. Trump is a man known for his abrasive and controversial personality, giving him the reputation of being explosive from a political standpoint. There are some who believe that by behaving in the way he does that he is actually hindering the chances of online gambling ever being legalized in the United States. This is because there is every chance that because of his nature many will oppose simply out of dislike of Trump simply to make a point. It isn’t just that either, Sheldon Adelson, a fellow gambling mogul, but one that opposes online gambling, could look to ramp up his anti-online gambling efforts simply to give Trump more to deal with during his campaign. Whichever way you look at situation, Donald Trump could very way play a key role in how the online casino legalisation story unfolds in the United States. Should his presidential campaign gather real momentum, whether he makes it into office or not, he will have an increased influence from a political standpoint moving forward.
